Don Carrigan
With over 50 years of broadcasting experience, Don Carrigan has become a trusted voice in Maine, covering communities from Bangor to Portland. Don specializes in political reporting, bringing insightful coverage from Augusta to viewers across the state.
A native of South Bristol, Maine, Don began his career in radio during college before joining WLBZ-TV in Bangor as a reporter, anchor, and photographer. Over nearly two decades with WLBZ 2 and WCSH 6, Don rose to the role of 6 p.m. anchor and News Director. In 1991, he transitioned to public service, working with U.S. Senator Bill Cohen, but soon returned to broadcasting in 1994 as Executive Producer of Public Affairs for Maine Public Television, where he anchored MaineWatch, moderated political debates, and produced documentaries.
Since rejoining NEWS CENTER Maine in 2003, Don has covered political campaigns, major state issues, and events as the Midcoast bureau reporter. He continues to deliver compelling, in-depth stories that shape public understanding.
Don lives with his wife, Donna, in the antique farmhouse where he grew up in South Bristol, Maine.
